A variety of workshops take place throughout the year. Some are run by PAW artists and are open to all, others are run for PAW artist to help them grow as artists and give them useful help with marketing, social media, running a business and so on. These workshops are informative, explorative and practical, as well as loads of fun!
Some recent workshops have included:
Flag Workshops – We have held two Flag Workshops, one in 2016 and one in 2017. Our 2020 was cancelled due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. The Flags we make are used to publicise Open Studios and the Rollington Barn Exhibition.
2 Day Raku Workshop – This was held at the Boilerhouse Gallery and was run by Richard Jeffery and Jane Cunliffe. The workshop covered using a variety of hand-building techniques to take you from raw clay to finished, fired, glazed work ready for you to take home.
Sketchbook Workshop – Roger Lockey ran this very informative sketchbook workshop where we all brought our sketchbooks to share our practice, ideas and approaches so that we could broaden each other’s horizons with an open discussion.
Social Media Workshop – Lucy Tidbury covered all aspects of promoting your work via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to help improve your online presence.
Printmaking Workshop – Heather Gibbons put on a series of very inspirational printmaking workshops at Burngate Stone Carving Centre.
Glass Workshop – Amanda Jenson talked about and demonstrated stained glass while Chris Davenport talked about and demonstrated kiln fused glass.
Mosaic Workshop – Kitty Hartnell put on a wonderful mosaic workshop for PAW Members and anyone else who wanted to join in.
