Rollington Barn Exhibition

Rollington Barn showcases the fantastic range of creative talent in Purbeck. It hosts a collective exhibition representing most of the PAW Festival visual artists; including their paintings, prints, ceramics, photography, woodcrafts, greetings cards and much more. As a hub for the PAW Festival, Rollington Barn provides a taste of what can be discovered by visiting our Open Studios, many of which provide a unique opportunity to meet PAW artists. Artwork at the barn can be purchased and taken away on the day and we accept cash, cheques and most credit and debit cards.

Building on the success of previous years’ Pop-Up Studios in the courtyard, PAW artists will be conducting demonstrations, workshops and talks about their work and medium every day from 11am – 3pm.

Rollington Barn is also an excellent place to start planning your art trail. By identifying your favourite artists from those exhibiting and locating them on the barn-door map you can plot your itinerary around the Open Studios. There is always a warm welcome at these venues, and many visitors love the opportunity to meet artists in their own space and discover hitherto undiscovered corners of Purbeck. You can also pick up a handy Open Studio map.

Love Cake’s pop-up courtyard café offers a selection of tempting homemade cakes, delicious light lunches, hot and cold drinks. Opening hours are 10.00am – 5.00pm.

In the byre, across the courtyard from the main barn, is one of Rollington’s highlights, the PYA show (our Purbeck Young Artists); an eclectic display of artistic creativity and imagination by students from local schools that will provide inspiration to all. At the far end of the byre is our installation space – this year occupied by artist Charlotte Fereday with her installation, the Spirit of Rollington in stitches. Do go and have a look and get stitched in!

Set in a beautiful location, with the collective show in the barn, the Purbeck Young artists’ show in the byre, Pop-Up Studio events and the ever-popular Love Cake Courtyard café there is plenty to keep visitors entertained at Rollington for hours!
