A contemporary of Frank Auerbach as a graduate of the Slade School of Art and three-time winner of the Sunday Times/Singer & Frieldlander art prize, Antonia Black created the Watercolour Workshop in the early 1980s. A group of half a dozen like-minded artists, we worked mainly en plein air in Richmond Park or by the River Thames at Kingston. We exhibited our work locally and I sold my first paintings

I began to develop my work in oils and, in 2009, produced six paintings for the PAW Festival in an exhibition at the Mulberry Tree Gallery in Swanage. I’ve been a member of the PAW artists’ collective ever since, exhibiting my work in various locations in Purbeck, whilst the Mulberry Tree Gallery regularly displays my paintings, prints and cards. I’ve also been commissioned to paint a number of images in oils – capturing a view of Purbeck that marks a personal milestone or celebration

I am also a member of the Molesey Art Society and my work now once again includes images of the Thames, Hampton Court and Richmond and Bushey Park
