I’m an illustrator and landscape artist working in watercolour, gouache, and acrylic. My work draws on the two themes of literature and landscape, where I’m interested in connecting painting with stories and poems about nature, as well as using illustration and hand-drawn maps to document my own experience of a landscape.

My aim is to translate a sense of a place into my drawing and painting, by focusing on the lines, textures, and natural colours found in my surroundings. By painting on-site at various locations in Dorset, I paint scenes to capture my experience, document my route, and reference the landscape’s history. I’m particularly interested in the patterns of Dorset’s fields, trees, and hedgerows, as well as the unique rock formations along the coast. With my illustrations, maps, and paintings, I hope to engage the viewer with the landscape as I’ve experienced it.

I’m also a published children’s illustrator, having recently illustrated two books for DK, titled ’Explorers’ and ‘Inventors’.
