Fiona Kelly, potter, is the owner/manager of the Creative Gallery in St John’s Hill, Wareham.
Having been making in clay for over 40 years she concentrates on functional stoneware pottery, often decorated with fish. Shapes and designs have evolved over the years, and her work has become more restricted by essential tremor, but the joy of making persists. Taking a piece of soft, malleable clay which can be transformed by fire into a durable, functional and beautiful product for your customers, friends and family to enjoy for years is immensely satisfying.
All pieces are made using stoneware clay; decorated with slips, oxides and underglaze colours; fired to 1280 C in an electric kiln; and are suitable for oven, microwave and dishwasher use.
