Fiona has been making pots for over 40 years and has sold in various galleries in Wareham for twenty five of those. In 2013 she took over the Creative Gallery in St John’s Hill, Wareham and has since run this as a co-operative gallery with nine resident artists/makers. Her pots are made in stoneware clay, mainly thrown on the wheel and twice fired in an electric kiln. The glaze firing to 1280C creates durable ware, which can be used in the kitchen for food preparation or dining. A variety of decorative techniques are used, often with a background of blue slip, relief detail and additional oxides. Location inspires the subject matter of the decoration and new designs are added each year depending on the exhibitions entered. commissions undertaken.
